As it usually happens in the television industry, you go about your day when out of the blue you get a phone call from someone you never contacted yourself about a job you didn't know existed.Yesterday I got a call from a senior producer over at ABC who has a booking/story development position that just became available for the show 20/20. Yes, that 20/20. One of the anchors over at truTV (Court TV) gave her my name. And so it begins...today...the interviewing, the questioning, etc. Do I want to stay in news? Do I want to continue to book guests for a living? Do I want to chase stories? Is ABC a good fit for me? Will they want me?

Whether or not you take the job, it is pretty wonderful to be sought in this job market, Deb. Congrats!
I got a chuckle out of the fact that your first post of the year was 2010, and this one was 20/20. I wonder what your next post will be? About 8:30pm in military time, perhaps!? LOL

Thanks guys! It went well, but there's a TON of travel involved chasing stories and people. I don't think it's the right fit. I'm not one to fly out at a moment's notice anymore trying to book a victim of a mass shooting, etc. Been there, done that. They may have thought so too since I haven't heard back. I had NO poker face when they brought up all the travel. Oh well, back to the drawing board.
No No No. I can so see you doing that. And then we could all see you on 20/20. My gosh what an opportunity. That is one of my most favorite news shows. Especially the touching ones. They are one of the few media that continually find uplifting news.
I have been lacking in paying attention to blogs. However, I felt the need to stop on over here today! :o)
I sit and think on the couch about what is going on in this world with friends. I like the surprise I have found here.
Personally, I think 20/20 or any news position would benefit from you. Especially for your passion in the realm of fairness. I think this may be a great fit for you, but then; what do I know? lol
Hope it turns into a really exciting, and fulfilling proposition!
